Current entry list

Five courts at Grandfather Golf & Country Club, Linville Golf Club, and Linville Ridge Country Club.

The second annual North Carolina GC Open will be held on five courts in Linville. Golf Croquet singles in two flights, starting Tuesday September 20 and finishing by early afternoon Thursday September 22. In anticipation of a high level of interest, and with entry limited to 12 players in each flight, entry will be based on World Ranking as of the Allocation Date (Friday August 26). If either flight is oversubscribed on that date, the top 12 players by ranking will be offered space in that flight, with the remaining players put on a waiting list in ranking order. (Unranked players will be assigned a provisional ranking based on handicap or other available information.) Any entries received after the Allocation date will be added to the waiting list first-come, first-served. The final entry deadline is Thursday September 8.

Daily lunch will be included. Costs are still being arranged and the entry fee will be posted as soon as it is known. Players who wish to be added to the allocation list should send an email notification to Jeff Soo, the Tournament Director.

Some local players have offered to host visiting players. If you’d like to be hosted, include that in your entry notification (see link above), and be sure to enter before the Allocation Date.

Each flight will begin with two blocks of six players each. Players will have four games on Tuesday and the final block round will be played Wednesday morning. The top four players from each block will advance to the quarterfinals, which will be single-game matches. The First Flight semifinals will also be single-game matches. All other Knockout rounds will be played best-of-three.

The four players in each flight who do not qualify for the Knockout will play a Plate block of three games each. Players losing in the Knockout quarterfinals may play in the Bowl consolation knockouts.
