ROAD TO THE FINAL MATCH

The underdogs have had their day, and there will be no surprise finalists. Paul Scott is one finalist, having put an end to Ed Roberts’ splendid run. Danny Huneycutt and Damon Bidencope have pegged down their semi-final match in the third game. Huneycutt won the first after a protracted three-ball ending, Huneycutt having pegged out Bidencope’s rover ball. Bidencope played a masterful triple peel to draw level. The deciding game is adjourned with Huneycutt’s clips on peg and 4-back while Bidencope is for 2 and 3. Bidencope is to play and has interesting choices as Huneycutt’s leave was poor.

Should Huneycutt prevail, the final would be a rematch of the 2005 USCA national final.

Paul Emmett leads the plate competition on +5 net wins. Andy Short is just behind at +4, and Jeff and Eileen Soo [update] and Stewart Jackson are each at +3.
