Yates and Cumming resumed their quarterfinal match this morning. Yates, having battled back to 1-1, continued his run of good shooting to make a real match of it. But Cumming prevailed as expected, +9 in the third.

Huneycutt allowed Lawrence only five strokes in taking a 2-0 lead in their semifinal match. Huneycutt looked likely to finish the match in time for lunch, but his triple came undone and the game turned scrappy. Eventually Lawrence was well on the way to getting back into the match with a standard triple, but only barely scored 2-back and had to shoot at the 3-back pioneer, missing the shot. This gave Huneycutt a trivial finish for the 3-0 win.

Rothman and Cumming’s match was high quality throughout. Rothman had the best of the pegged-out games, winning -26tp, +26tp, +10tpo, +2otp.

Taylor and Hayworth each had their first tournament triples today, playing in the Plate. The Plate has been flexible Swiss so far; tomorrow it goes to a single-game knockout.
