The US Croquet Association is close to finalizing a deal to make Roto Rooter its new national sponsor, according to unnamed sources within the USCA.

Asked about the pending deal, Frank Thompson, USCA Development Committee chairman, declined to comment. But the sources quoted internal USCA email discussions in which Thompson apparently stated, “A partnership with Roto Rooter would be a perfect fit. They are one of the best-recognized brands in America, plus they have a really catchy jingle.”

Tony Reaves, an avid croquet player and a licensed plumber, stated, “If you think about it, plumbing is all about sequence and positioning, just like croquet. Plumbing is very strategic.”

Roto Rooter equipment was on display during the USCA’s Croquet Week in March (see photo above). According to the sources, this will become a regular feature at USCA titled events. Logo shirts and hats will also be mandatory for all players, the sources said.
