Bidencope wins USCA Selection Eights
Posted 8 November 2004 to People, Regional & National by Jeff SooDamon Bidencope (Charlotte, NC) has made history—again. Still the only player to have won USCA national titles in singles and doubles of American rules and Association Croquet, Bidencope won the inaugural USCA Selection Eights, held October 28–31 at the National Croquet Center. This major new tournament featured a top-quality field of players from around the US and Canada.
Even more remarkably, Bidencope won this tournament despite not having played an official Association Croquet event in ten years, since the ‘94 Solomon Trophy. Indeed, he has played very little croquet of any kind in that time. Funnily enough, he was initially picked for the second tier of the Selection Eights and only made the move up to the top group after another player withdrew.
Bidencope now reappears on the Association Croquet ranking list as the #1 player in North America and #21 in the world.
