Scott sweeps Nationals; Soo one step behind
Posted 23 October 2001 to People, Regional & National by Jeff SooNorth Carolinians Paul Scott and Jeff Soo dominated the 2001 USCA National Championships, held October 15–21 at the nascent National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. As doubles partners the pair compiled a perfect 10-0 record to win their second National Doubles title. In singles each player went undefeated into the final match, where Scott won 26-2 in a flawless display of top-level American rules croquet.
Scott becomes the sixth player in USCA Nationals history to win both singles and doubles in the same year. Scott and Soo become the seventh pair to win two doubles titles. As yet, no doubles pair has won more than two national titles.
