Scotia Synan, supported by numerous family members, presented a new permanent trophy in honor of her late husband, Wayne Synan. The presentation capped the 2006 USCA Southeast Regional Championships, held May 17–21 at Pinehurst, NC.

Wayne Synan’s untimely death in 2003 left his many friends in croquet wishing for an appropriate memorial to a player widely praised for winning competitive success while exemplifying gentlemanly sportsmanship. Synan was a three-time winner of the USCA Southern/Southeast Regional singles championship.

USCA Southeast Region VP Gene Young coordinated the effort to fund and develop the trophy. The hand-crafted trophy, honoring the winner of the USCA Southeast Regional singles championship, will be on display in the trophy case at the National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.
